1.SBI Model (Situation – Behavior – Impact)

A simple and objective tool for giving clear feedback.

How SBI Works

  • Situation: Describe when/where the behavior occurred

  • Behavior: Describe the observable action (no judgment)

  • Impact: Explain the effect on the team, work, or customer

Example

  • Situation: “In yesterday’s meeting…”

  • Behavior: “…you interrupted the client while they were speaking…”

  • Impact: “…this made the client feel unheard and slowed decision-making.”


2. Feedforward Model

A future-focused feedback approach created by Marshall Goldsmith.

Key Principles

  • Focus on what the person can do next time

  • Avoid dwelling on past mistakes

  • More positive and motivating

  • Encourages collaboration

“Next time during client meetings, try pausing before responding. This will help the client feel more engaged and respected.”
