COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course prepares students for the Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) certification by building a strong foundation in networking concepts, IP technologies, switching and routing, WLAN, and network security. Combining theoretical instruction with hands-on labs (onsite and online), the course emphasizes practical skills using Huawei tools and platforms. Students will engage in guided labs, group work, and mock exams to reinforce learning and build confidence for the official HCIA certification exam.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify and explain key networking concepts, including OSI and TCP/IP models.
- Configure basic IP addressing and subnetting.
- Set up and manage VLANs, routing protocols, and access control lists on Huawei devices.
- Troubleshoot common network issues using Huawei tools and diagnostic commands.
- Demonstrate understanding of WLAN fundamentals and basic security configurations.
- Perform practical networking tasks in both physical and virtual lab environments.
- Interpret HCIA exam-style questions and apply appropriate problem-solving strategies.
- Complete mock exams and practice labs that reflect real-world scenarios and certification requirements.
- Prepare for and sit the official Huawei HCIA certification exam with confidence.
METHODS OF INSTRUCTION
The course uses a mix of lectures, hands-on labs (onsite and online), guided exam prep, and group work. Students will engage with theory, complete practical lab exercises, and use Huawei’s virtual tools. Weekly sessions include lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and practice exams to prepare for the HCIA certification. Readings and online resources support independent study.
